Empathy When Its Dark

Empathy When Its Dark

$200.00
20 X 18 inches

This is a mid-size acrylic mixed methods painting on canvas. Ada created this piece on her Spring Break 2025. It took 3 days to complete in her basement studio. Join the growing number of socially considerate people to share empathy through art.

This limited edition piece feature empathy in hot pink and sky blue amidst sinister figures and shadows. Often, the most difficult time to empathize is when times are hard or hope is lost. However, these are the times when empathy is the most valuable. This painting is a reminder of this perserverence.

This collection is based on 7 year old Ada's designs and research on an "empathic mindset". Experimental research (randomized placebo-controlled field experiments) published in the National Academies of Sciences shows that an empathic mindset can mitigate historic barriers like access to education (2016). The Principal Investigator who created and tested the idea explained it to his 7 year old daughter and she painting this an other pieces as part of an art line to spread the contagious, prosocial, and uplifting effects of empathy with others throughout the world.
